Anti Fly-Posting Products

What is fly-posting?
Although there may be no formal definition fly-posting it is generally taken to be the display of posters, bills, labels, flyers or advertising material on buildings and street furniture without the consent of the owner, and is often against the law. In the US, these posters are often known as bandit signs or street spam. Other common fly-posting locations spots include disused buildings, lampposts, tube and railway stations, public toilets, traffic light control boxes, telephone cable and electricity junction boxes, CCTV and street lighting columns.
Fly-posting can occur in any location but is particularly prevalent in urban areas. It can be unsightly and is often seen as symptomatic of low environmental quality. It is an advertising tactic mostly used by small businesses promoting concerts and political activist groups, but there have been occasions where international companies subcontracted local advertising agencies for fly posting jobs in order to not get caught in illegal behaviour.
Discussions with Councils on the most common Anti Fly -Poster Coatings available showed a need for alternative products which were:
1. Unobtrusive so they could be applied to a variety of surfaces of different colours, textures, and appearance.
2. Be easy to apply by inexperienced personnel.
3. Preferably of low hazard.
4. Economic in use.
5. One pack rather than two pack.
After a great deal of development work and selected field trials two products were developed that meet the above criteria.

Wax Anti Fly-Poster Coating is a clear, water based coating based on a blend of waxes and acrylic resins. It forms a low gloss, clear barrier coating which is extremely hydrophobic, which is ideal for the prevention of adhesion of larger posters pasted up onto Cable Boxes, brick, concrete, wood, and other flat surfaces. Posters are easily peeled off leaving a clean poster free surface. Low hazard and easy to apply.
